Description
After a very long and treacherous drive in the dark, on a deep muddy, frozen, snowy, and wet road, in the middle of a blizzard, we finally made it to White Pocket. I took this shot early in the morning with Billy behind me and Dustin to my right. We were all shooting the same spot but from different vantage points so as not to duplicate our comps. The reflection was like a mirror. The snow covered cliffs, clouds, and blue sky were reflecting perfectly in the still calm water. It was completely quiet, no birds, no nothing, other than the sounds of our shoes crushing the fresh snow. We shot for several hours, each going in our own direction. The area is so large that you could spend several days there and still not shoot everything. After a few hours, the blizzard conditions started up again. We actually waited in Billy's truck for seven hours hoping that the conditions would change, but they didn't, so we made the long treacherous drive back out to the main road and back to our hotel room. All in all, one of my best adventures ever! -
